I
can't believe they didn't invent it No.12: The Speccy Joypad
Ok,
apologies first. I'm sorry.
But
hold on, please indulge me for a minute. A vodka fuelled
drinking binge followed by an 'all back to mine' gaming
session got me thinking... did 1980's post-pub gamers
stagger back to their homes, fumble around in cassette
drawers to find a game and proceed to wait 12 minutes
for Ocean's 'Match Day' to load? More to the point, did
they sit on the floor two inches from the TV hunched over
a keyboard? Now, Kempston Joysticks all to hell, the control
method of choice for the hardcore was the rubber keyboard.
Then
it occurred to me, what an absolute revelation it would
have been if a peripheral like this was available, the idea
of sitting on a couch AND playing a videogame was unheard
of in my household.
So I'm 18 years too late, but as I look lovingly at my creation
I hear two words repeating in my head... "If only...
If only..."

Game
drought week 3
Please
someone release something half decent, this is the 3rd week
running I've been a cynical bastard, and to be honest I
don't want to make it a forth. Even EA's games are starting
to look an attractive proposition.
Playstation
game sales must be right down at the moment, what with Sony's
core audience out, draped in St. George's flags, drunkenly
smashing up town centre bars between football matches and
chanting sonnets to the team which represent their birthplace.
Sony
could do well to go into producing England football shirts,
kebabs and copies of Loaded to keep themselves in profit
during this difficult month.

E3 Nintendo - Oh the pain.. the pain...
No
one loves Nintendo games more than me. Well, perhaps James
in admin does, and like having a bad, unfaithful girlfriend
we find ourselves returning to her again and again. Why?
because the sex is good. Nintendo
is the incredibly cute girlfriend who just nips out for
a "quick drink" with the girls and doesn't return
for hours, leaving you waiting.... and waiting. European
gamer frustration was futher compounded this month after
the 'strategic' delay of Pikmin and Resident Evil. What
made the inevitable Euro game delays even more agonising
was the welcome return to form by Nintendo at last months
E3.
I fear for the European Nintendo supporters who may end
up playing Mario 'Sunshine' in the winter months....
